Pub and brewery firm The Liberation Group has reopened a Wiltshire pub following "extensive" refurbishment.

The Jersey-based parent company of West Country beer and hospitality brand Butcombe Pubs & Inns reopened The Crown in Tolldown, Chippenham.

Managed by Butcombe the pub now boasts nine bedrooms, a new private dining space and new menus. The 16th century building has been given a makeover combining period touches with a modern approach.

The addition of a new multifunctional private dining area, Butcombe said, provides space for celebrations, get togethers, meetings and community events. Outside, the beer garden has been updated with a Mediterranean planting scheme, cedar cladding and new furniture.

Jayson Perfect, group managing director, Pubs & Inns, Liberation Group said: “We’re incredibly proud of the new look Crown and we’re delighted to be able to welcome visitors old and new once again. It’s fresh and modern without losing any of the original, cosy country charm, and we’re sure our guests will enjoy the new look and feel, alongside our fresh new award-winning food and drink offering.”

Behind the bar is a great selection of wine and cocktails, alongside a wide range of craft beer, real ale and cider from Butcombe’s award-winning brewery a few miles away in Bristol.
