Plans for seafront shipping container village outlined in new video

Danieli Holdings wants to replicate the success of Stack in Newcastle with a similar venture at Sunderland

Take a look at the plans for a second STACK in Seaburn

A planned shipping container villager for the Sunderland seafront has been brought to life in a new video.

Newcastle leisure firm Danieli Holdings wants to build a version of its successful Stack development at Seaburn.

A planning application has been submitted to Sunderland City Council, a now a CGI video has been released showing how the development would look.

Like the firm's Newcastle Stack, the Seaburn scheme would see shipping containers assembled to create an enclosed village that can operate in all weathers.

Standing two-storeys high, Stack would sit opposite Seaburn’s promenade, next to Seldons Leisureworld, creating a new space serving food, drink and family-orientated entertainment, including a range of indoor and outdoor activities.

The development will also include a function room, suitable for gatherings and a variety of other events, but with a particular focus towards the alternative wedding market, complete with its very own secret bridal suite for the Bride and Groom.

Sunderland-born Neill Winch, director at Danieli Holdings, said: “This video really does give a stunning glimpse into what Stack Seaburn could look like, and the vibrancy of the place.

“We’ve been delighted by the response to our proposals – people from Sunderland and beyond seem to be really excited about it. We’re delighted by how the computer generated fly-through looks, and really do hope to be able to bring this to life and deliver a fantastic new facility to my home city.”
