The Performance Car Show at NEC: Top 10 sporty motors of the past 25 years

The Performance Car Show at the NEC is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Show director Ian France reveals his top 10 best motors

The world of motoring moves as quickly as the cars themselves and the evolution over the last 25 years has been nothing short of amazing.

Engines may be getting smaller and greener but supercars are getting faster and a number of icons have emerged over the years.

Ahead of the Performance Car Show and Autosport International at the NEC on January 10 and 11, we look back at 10 of the most important cars to hit the streets during the event's 25 year history.

Check out our gallery above for all the details about these beautiful cars.

"Some truly legendary cars have been created over the last 25 years, and not just record-breaking supercars, with a number of vehicles shaping the motoring landscape and helping define its future," says Ian France, Performance Car Show director.

"We're looking forward to hosting some of these sensational models at the NEC, among the latest supercars and high-performance favourites on display in the Performance Car Show and the best of motorsport within Autosport International."

The menacing Lamborghini Huracán, award-winning Ferrari 458 Speciale and ground-breaking BMW i8 will headline the supercars on display during the Performance Car Show next month, as the best of the motoring world heads to Birmingham.

Bringing a combined 1,800hp to the popular Autocar Supercar Display, the Lamborghini, Ferrari and BMW will be accompanied by an emerging force, Mexico's track-focused Vühl 05.
