Landowner and developer The Peel Group is moving its headquarters out of the Trafford Centre.
The shopping mall's creator and former owner is to leave the centre after more than 20 years, the .
Peel Group said it is relocating its staff to the to the Venus building in nearby TraffordCity.
In the 1980s, known then as Peel Holdings, the company - in particular, its leader John Whittaker - conceived of the plans for a complete transformation of Trafford Park area, including its £600 million flagship development, the Centre.
After years of debate over the possible negative impacts such a huge shopping centre would have on its surroundings and a trip to the House of Lords later, Peel were finally given the go ahead a decade later in 1995.
In 1998, the mammoth mall opened its doors and its creators moved in to their new offices inside the largest shopping centre in the 海角视频 at the time of its reveal.
The headquarters overlooked Peel's work, occupying the famous dome at the centre of the Trafford Centre.
It spent golden years as one of the most successful shopping centres in the country and became the jewel in Peel's crown.

In 2011, the centre was bought from Peel Holdings by Capital Shopping Centres in a billion-pound sale in 2011 and re-branded as the intu Trafford Centre by 2013.
Peel's offices remained at the site.
But after more than 20 years of trading, making a name for itself as a tourist destination in Greater Manchester,
KPMG has been appointed as the administrator and, although the centre remains open for now, it is unclear what the future holds for the iconic building.
Now, its creators have announced they are upping sticks and vacating the problem mall to a building across the road, saying that during lockdown the businesses decided the Trafford Centre was no longer an 'appropriate' office.
“In common with many other businesses across the 海角视频, a significant number of our people have been working from home, in line with Government advice," a spokseperson for The Peel Group told the Manchester Evening News .
“Since the Government guidelines have been updated, we have been reviewing in detail how we can most effectively ensure our offices are fit for purpose in the ‘new normal.’ As a result of that review, we have concluded that we need to move to more appropriate accommodation.

The eight-storey Venus building lies directly opposite the Trafford Centre in TraffordCity - an office, retail and leisure scheme marshalled by the group’s development section Peel L&P, under construction since 2015.
The spokesperson continued: “In the coming weeks, our staff will move, in phases, to new offices at the Venus building in TraffordCity. Venus is a modern, efficient building which is better suited to both safeguarding our peoples’ wellbeing and meeting our future business requirements.”
