Almost 100 jobs were created by an employee-owned cash and carry and convenience store giant during its latest financial year as its sales surged by more than £90m.
A G Parfett & Sons, which is behind the Parfetts Cash & Carry, GoLocal and Gold brands, has reported a turnover of £569.9m for the 12 months to June 30, 2021, up from the £478m it achieved in the prior year.
The group's pre-tax profits also increased from £11.6m to £14.5m over the same time.

According to newly-filed documents with Companies House, the group's employees increased from 683 to 778 during the year.
A G Parfett & Sons was founded in 1980 in Stockport. Parfetts Cash & Carry has branches in Stockport, Halifax, Somercotes, Sheffield and two Merseyside depots in Aintree and Anfield.
The GoLocal brand has stores across North West Midlands and South Yorkshire.
A statement signed off by the board said: "We are delighted with the results for the year ended June 2021 in what has continued to be a particularly challenging period, as we have experienced increased customer demand while working hard to manage supply chain shortages due to Covid as well as ensuring we had sufficient staff levels to maintain customer service levels.

"It has been another record year for both turnover and operating profit; margins have remained stable.
"Sales, which had risen dramatically since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, continued to remain strong throughout the financial year, as the increased demand from our retail customers was maintained.
"This increased demand, alongside a proactive approach to stock procurement and stock availability, an increase in our delivered capacity and continuing improvements in our IT infrastructure meant we were well placed to continue to achieve further sales growth and service our customers.
"The main reason for the increased sales and gross margin in the year is an increase in volumes of goods sold."
