Outdoor footwear brand to open at M5 Cotswolds Designer Outlet

The shop is set to open next month selling trail running, hiking, casual and barefoot ranges

A high-performance trail running and outdoor footwear brand is planning to open a store at the new Cotswolds Designer Outlet.

The branch, slated to open on July 16, will will be the second bricks-and-mortar shop for outdoor clothing and shoe firm Merrell.

The company has secured 121 sq metres of space at the outlet, joining other brands including North Face, Saltrock, Craghoppers and Mountain Warehouse.

The new branch, located near Tewkesbury, will offer a range of products, including apparel and accessories and a full complement of footwear options from the trail running, hiking, casual and barefoot ranges.

Jonathan Quint, senior product and marketing director EMEA at Merrell, said: “We are incredibly proud to open our second store in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ - and in such a key location.

"The location was specifically chosen for its unparalleled access to the Cotswolds, Malvern Hills and South Wales - and is a signal of Merrell’s continued investment in the outdoor retail market, offering customers a premium shopping experience.

Merrell was established in 1981 when two executives from the Rossignol ski company - Clark Matis and John Schweizer - decided to launch a new maker of hiking boots. The company has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of US shoe giant Wolverine World Wide since 1997.
