Independent golf retailers Snainton Golf has promised 10 new jobs and state-of-the-art technology as part of a £350,000 investment at a North Staffordshire driving range.

The company – whose headquarters are located in Scarborough – has made Keele Driving Range number 22 in its expanding portfolio of sites.

Business partners John Hinchliffe and Peter Ritchie are spending around £350,000 on revamping the newly-named Keele Golf Centre.

Twenty of the driving range bays will be ‘powered by Top Tracer Range’ giving golfers the chance to experience the same ball-tracking technology that traces the shots of the world’s best players on TV.

The state-of-the-art technology traces the shots hit on the range and show the flight on in-bay TV screens.

New owner John Hinchliffe is excited to welcome visitors to the centre next month.

He said: “The range at Keele has been an important part of the golf community for the last 25 years, so we are delighted to be able to build on its success.

“By bringing Top Tracer Range to the bays, golfers will have the chance to practice like the professionals do, but it also offers the facility for people to play famous courses around the world and go head to head in fun competitions.
