Online charity shop Thrift+ expands into new premises

Sellers chose what percentage of money they make goes to charity and what is turned into credits to use on the site

Thrift + have taken units on the Airfield Business Park, in Market Harborough

An online thrift shop which helps people sell their second hand clothes for charity has expanded into new Leicestershire premises.

Thrift + have taken on two units at the new Airfield Business Park, in Market Harborough.

The business was launched by Joe Metcalfe in 2015, when he set up what was said to be the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s first click and collect app for high street charity shops.

Since then, he has built a service that encourages high quality donations by offering convenience while rewarding people’s generosity.

Customers apply for a free thrift bag which they fill with clothes they wish to donate and send back to the warehouse.

The clothes then pass through quality control and once approved are uploaded to the website.

Sellers can chose what percentage of the money they make goes to charity and what is turned into credits to use on the site.

The company charges 33 per cent commission on each sale, with a minimum fee of £5.
