North Wales retail park's remarkable turnaround after pandemic closed key occupiers

Parc Llandudno had been badly impacted over the Covid crisis but retailers are now flocking to the shopping park

It's no secret that chain store retail has been badly hit in the pandemic - with some brands going under and others cutting back their portfolio.

The evidence of this has been pretty clear on a key North Wales retail park.

Since the start of the pandemic Parc Llandudno has lost Laura Ashley, Monsoon Accessorize, Outfit, and Debenhams, which had been an anchor store on the park.

With the exception of Monsoon the closures were part of a disappearance of brands from º£½ÇÊÓƵ high streets rather than any reflection on the trading environment in the seaside resort.

But the closures left huge gaps on the shopping park that was close to full prior to the Covid-19 crisis.

However the strength of the retail sector in the town has been demonstrated in the way the park is now recovering.

Regatta has already moved into the Monsoon Accessorize unit to add a new name to the park.

Marks and Spencer has also confirmed it will take on the Debenhams store - with plans to relocate from Mostyn Street next spring, although this does then leave a gap on the town's high street.
