British catering equipment giant Nisbets has announced the departure of its group chief executive from the business.

The company, which is headquartered in Avonmouth near Bristol, said Klaus Goeldenbot had left by mutual agreement on May 1.

The global chief executive role will not be replaced in the immediate term, the company said.

Nisbets said Mr Goeldenbot’s departure follows a decision to “streamline management” within the business in a “historically competitive market environment”.

It also said the restructure would mean more decisions being decentralised to local country managing directors.

Peter Sephton, senior director of catering equipment distribution and rental company Key West Holdings, will support the business by providing "strategic advice" and “continuity”, Nisbets said.

Mr Sephton, who has served as a director of Nisbets since 2017, is former chief executive of car parts group The Parts Alliance and a board member of Nexus Automotive.

He said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Klaus for his hard work and service over the past two years. I know I speak for all of the team at Nisbets.
