A new five year deal has been signed between Nisa and London-based convenience store group LA Foods.
It will take the relationship between supplier and retailer beyond a quarter of a century, with 16 capital outlets currently trading under the Nisa brand. Plans to expand the portfolio are also being considered.
Described as a 鈥渢rue community-based retailer鈥 LA Foods has donated almost 拢70,000 through Nisa鈥檚 Making a Difference Locally charity with local sports clubs, schools and food banks benefiting from the initiative. In 2021 the Scunthorpe-headquartered delivered wholesaler鈥檚 1,000th symbol store was opened by LA Foods in Camden.

Haroon Hussain, shareholder at LA Foods Group, said he was pleased with the contract extension, with LA Group considering developing more stores with Nisa in the future. 鈥淥ne of the reasons behind extending the contract is the certainty of supply and product availability at Nisa,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e haven鈥檛 had any issues with deliveries and the Co-op own brand products were also an appealing factor.
"Although the wider market has been a little strange recently, we feel that the contract extension with Nisa is a step forward and gives us the certainty to start growing our business. We have had a lot of support whilst working with the team at Nisa who have provided a great service, and I hope this will continue.鈥
Having been bought by The Co-operative Group in 2018, Nisa now supplies its own range alongside major brands.
Victoria Lockie, head of retail at Nisa, said: 鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled that LA Foods Group have decided to extend their contract with us for a further five years. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship and hopefully see more Nisa affiliated stores open in the future.
鈥淲e have enjoyed working with Haroon and the team over the last 20 years and look forward to see how the group expands in the future.鈥
