A new restaurant and bar with a "Mediterranean flavour" is opening at Bristol Airport next month.

Alembic will be based in the departure lounge, serving light bites and small plates ranging from Padron peppers to focaccia and Gambas al Ajillo to Spanish meatballs, as well as sharing boards and specials.

Drinks on the menu include coffee from a regional producer and cocktails from locally sourced rum, gin and whisky suppliers.

The restaurant, which will open on July 3, will also serve breakfast, including scrambled eggs on sourdough; bacon croissant rolls; Greek yoghurt; five beans on sourdough; avocado on focaccia; and shakshuka. The menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Kate Gwyther, head of retail for Bristol Airport said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e really pleased to be able to add this premium experience for customers to enjoy in stylish and relaxing surroundings.

"It鈥檚 also great to be able to offer a completely different dining option whether it鈥檚 brunch, lunch or dinner, alongside some great South West drinks brands, which will also be available for customers to purchase from the World Duty Free store, if they鈥檝e tried something they like.鈥

Beth Brewster, senior coordinating director for global travel experience provider Avolta, added: 鈥淭his is our first opening at Bristol Airport, so a very proud moment for us.

"We are also delighted to be introducing Alembic, as this is our second opening of this exciting new restaurant concept this year. It showcases what we do brilliantly 鈥 creating delicious dishes using the best produce and complementing them with some locally sourced spirits and coffee.

"We鈥檙e confident that travellers visiting Bristol Airport are going to love Alembic鈥檚 Mediterranean vibe, delicious food, and great customer service."
