A massive new multi-million pound Jaguar Land Rover car dealership is set to open in Derby this month.

Signs have appeared outside the newly-created dealership, in Chequers Road, on the West Meadows Industrial Estate, which say that the site is due to open in December.

The dealership has been built on part of the former Derby Cattle Market after Inchcape received planning permission from Derby City Council.

It has seen the firm develop six acres of the 11.5-acre site.

A two-storey building has been built, offering a total of 5,500 square metres of floor space, which will be used to sell, service, repair and clean both Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

Up until now, the brands have operated from separate sites in Derby. However, at the new Chequers Road site, they will be brought together under one roof. The combined site will create 40 extra full-time jobs.

According to the websites of both brands, a precise date for the new combined dealership will be “announced soon”.
