Nearly three years after Marks and Spencer announced it was relocating its Llandudno store the retailer says it remains committed to the plan - despite no planning application.

The retailer made the shock announcement in November 2017 and consolidate in the main store – then shift all departments to a new unit on Parc Llandudno.

The satellite store closed and bosses said a planning application for the new store would follow early in 2018.

But that plan has never been submitted and the retailer has also never confirmed where it hoped to move to at Parc Llandudno.

Business Live asked the company if it remained committed to the proposal - which would leave a large hole in Llandudno's Mostyn Street.

In response a spokeswoman said: “We are reshaping our store estate to make sure it’s fit for the future, meeting the needs of customers today – and those of tomorrow.

"As part of this journey, we are looking to move from our current M&S store on Mostyn Street to Parc Llandudno.

"As our plans develop we look forward to sharing more information with the local community.”
