Loyalty scheme which rewards shoppers who pay on card launched in Stoke-on-Trent

A number of the city's shops, cafes and bars have signed up for the scheme

Stoke-on-Trent is launching a Mi Rewards programme in November

A loyalty scheme which rewards customers every time they pay on card at participating businesses is being launched in Stoke-on-Trent.

Mi Rewards, from Scottish fintech Miconex, is expanding across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and launching in new towns and cities including the Potteries.

The loyalty scheme sees shoppers receive a variety rewards and prizes for shopping locally – and can include everything from luxury hampers and gift cards to event tickets.

And in Stoke-on-Trent, a number of shops, cafes and bars have signed up for the scheme – which is going live in December– including Stoke City FC and the new Hilton Garden Inn hotel.

Nicole Williamson, owner of The Slamwich Club restaurant in Hanley, sees the scheme as a new chapter for the city.

She said: "Covid has brought a period of uncertainty to many local businesses like The Slamwich Club, so it's never been more important for people to support their high streets.

"We're delighted to be part of this exciting new chapter which highlights the need for people to shop, dine and be entertained locally – and being rewarded handsomely for doing so!

"We have a loyal fanbase which we're hugely grateful for, and now we get to recognise and reward their loyalty through points gained simply from dining with us."
