A ladies-only gym which opened in Stoke-on-Trent just 13 months ago has suddenly closed.
A notice has gone up in the window of Gymophobics' Hanley franchise stating the branch has 'ceased trading with immediate effect due to the insolvent nature of the business.'
Members received a text from franchisee Penney Humber yesterday informing them of the news.
The text said: "It's with deep regret and a heavy heart that the gym has closed.

"I actually did not know this was going to happen at this point as we planned to give our ladies a letter and go through the process. We had a lady interested but she pulled out, and my son has just informed me that he's closed it.
"I am personally very, very sad and heavy-hearted as I've loved watching you all achieve your goals and watched you all grow."
Gymphobics - which was founded in Lichfield in 2003 - opened its 50th centre in Northamptonshire earlier this year.
The chain's national training headquarters is in Stafford.
