The º£½ÇÊÓƵ division of cider brand Kopparberg has significantly reduced its pre-tax loss in the latest financial year. The Leeds-based branch reported a loss of £244,919 for 2023, according to recently filed accounts with Companies House.

This is a marked improvement from the previous year when Kopparberg posted a pre-tax loss of £2m in 2022. The last time the division recorded a pre-tax profit was in 2021, with a figure of £3.1m.

The newly released results also reveal that Kopparberg's turnover fell slightly from £154.1m to £151.1m in 2023.

A statement approved by the board read: "The directors continue to explore and develop opportunities to further develop the Kopparberg brand in the United Kingdom."

No dividend was paid in the year, having handed out £2.5m in 2022.

Kopparberg, which is based in Sweden and is the country's largest brewing company, saw these º£½ÇÊÓƵ results after Budweiser inked a deal to distribute Kopparberg nationwide from the end of May this year. At the time of the agreement, Kopparberg held just over 18 per cent market share in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

This deal came shortly before Budweiser signed a similar agreement with San Miguel, as reported by .

City AM recently reported that despite Heineken's largest-ever price increases in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, its profit took a hit during its latest financial year due to "economic volatility".
