Andy Kerr, ProCook retail director, said: “We firmly believe in the value of physical retail stores and expanding our store portfolio plays a key role in our plans to strengthen our brand awareness in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ. As we approach the Christmas season, our team is ready to welcome everyone from the local area who loves cooking and entertaining at home.”

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual - the mall’s owners - said: “We are delighted that the ProCook team have chosen Atria Watford to launch the company’s 60th store. As we approach the festive season, their range of kitchen and homeware will provide another great option for those shopping for gifts.

“The centre has seen strong leasing activity in recent months and ProCook’s milestone opening reflects the continued appeal of prime physical retail space.”

ProCook was founded by former chief executive Daniel O’Neill almost 30 years ago, when it began by selling cookware sets through catalogues, and is now listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The company, which also sells its products online, recently reported a dip in revenue amid “difficult trading conditions” during the first half of the year. The group made sales of £26.3m, down by around 4% on the opening six months of its previous financial year.
