KFC names 21 Welsh locations where it wants new restaurants

The US fried chicken giant wants to expand its brand further across the country

Where does KFC chicken come from?

Fast food firm KFC has revealed locations across Wales where it wants to open new restaurants.

The fried chicken giant is currently on the hunt for extra sites to help expand the brand to more locations around the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

The company currently has around 850 outlets in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ - including more than 40 in Wales - but hopes to increase its footprint.

It is particularly after drive-thru locations and has now named the sites in Wales where it plans to target.

There are 21 sites they are searching for - with the potential for around 500 jobs..

The chain offers incentives of £20,000 for those who find a new site in their target areas.

A spokesman said: "We have bold ambitions to have over 1,000 stores in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Ireland by 2020 and we are looking to build over 50 new stores a year."

The Kentucky Fried Chicken concept was introduced to Britain in 1965 when the first store opened in Preston.
