The John Lewis Partnership (JLP) is preparing for a significant recruitment drive in the upcoming months, with plans to hire thousands of temporary staff for the holiday season.
The retail conglomerate anticipates welcoming 12,500 new employees across its John Lewis department stores and Waitrose grocery branches, marking an increase of 4,100 compared to the same time last year, as reported by .
This expansion in temporary roles is part of JLP's strategy to prepare for what it expects to be the busiest time of the year, leading up to Black Friday, Christmas, and the New Year.

JLP has seen robust demand this month, with its Waitrose Christmas range experiencing a 25 per cent year-on-year surge and a 20 per cent rise in holiday decoration sales at John Lewis.
The hiring process is already well underway for 2,000 temporary positions across 34 John Lewis stores, while Waitrose is set to start recruiting for 7,700 roles across over 300 locations.
Additionally, there are 2,800 vacancies for warehouse workers and drivers to cater to the increased online demand.
