Jobs created as American Golf opens º£½ÇÊÓƵ's 'most high tech' golf store in Manchester

The £650,000 store opening comes after golf saw a 'huge surge in popularity' over the past year

Jobs created as American Golf opens £650,000 'high tech' store in Trafford

Jobs have been created after American Golf announced it is to open a new £650,000 "high tech" store in Greater Manchester.

The firm, Europe's largest golf retailer, said the huge store overhaul at Trafford Golf Centre will boast the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's first digitally controlled 'Zen Green Stage' stimulating real-world putting green slopes.

The new store will create 15 jobs, with the Zen Green Stage used in the Sky Sports TV studio set to allow golfers to take on a variety of breaking putts on "ultra-real" turf.

The firm said the opening comes after lockdown saw more people take to golf courses than ever before, including more women and children.

Gary Favell, CEO of American Golf, said: “Golf has seen a huge surge in popularity over the last 12 months and being a socially-distanced sport, we expect this to continue when golf courses re-open on March 29.

“Golf is an inclusive sport that everyone can play and our Trafford store has been designed with interactive features, including the Zen Green Stage and GCQuad Technology, to appeal to families and those who have never played before, as much as the seasoned pros.”

The store - the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's "most high tech golf store" - will open to the public on April 12.
