A fast-growing independent brunch and coffee brand based in Derby has confirmed the opening of what will be its sixth site.

Towards the end of last year, BEAR, which serves speciality coffee, brunch, cocktails and craft beer from morning until evening, revealed it planned to open at Baron's Quay, in Northwich, Cheshire.

Now, the company has said that its new site will open for business on April 16.

To date, BEAR has an outlet in Uttoxeter, which was its first branch, as well as two outlets in Derby - one in Iron Gate, where the company is based, and another in the Intu Derby shopping centre. It also has branches in Stone, in Staffordshire and another in Fitzrovia, in central London.

The London site recently opened within a Paperchase store on Tottenham Court Road. BEAR previously had a site inside a Jack Wills store in Soho, but when the fashion retailer closed that shop, the firm had to relocate.

BEAR co-founders Craig Bunting and Michael Thorley opened their first outlet in 2016

They now have ambitions to open up to 30 sites over the next five years and become a high street challenger brand to the likes of Costa and Starbucks.
