Humber at the heart of 'audacious' new TV campaign from Phillips 66's expanding Jet fuel brand

The Humber is at the heart of a new national advert from Jet - Phillips 66’s expanding º£½ÇÊÓƵ fuel brand.

The flagship forecourt by the US giant’s huge South Bank refinery is the location for the filming of what has been described as an “audacious new campaign” - as the company takes the drama out of driving, while adding a clutch of new sites.

South Killingholme’s Jet station underwent a £3 million complete overhaul recently, and the smooth transactions take centre stage for a distressed bridesmaid. Weeping and wailing, she yells “we don’t have time to fill up” only for her mood to change in an instant as her wedding buddy assures her it’s all done and they drive off calmly with the end-line ‘here for drivers not dramas’.

In another scenario a driver is in full meltdown mode as the last drop of windscreen washer liquid leaves the tank - only for his wife to hand him a new bottle. Snacks, coffee and premium fuel are topics covered with the same degree of fun and flair in the other executions by London-based Isobel.

Rob Runnels, manager for brand for Phillips 66’s º£½ÇÊÓƵ marketing team, said: “This campaign is full of humanity and humour - and truly captures the unique spirit and personality of the Jet brand. Deliberately over the top and ‘dramatic’ the scenarios are nonetheless relatable and will resonate with our customers. This is a campaign to be proud of - one that puts a smile on your face and stands out for all the right reasons.”

The new campaign comes two years after the award-winning Keep on Moving ad that featured a man on a grand piano ‘driving’ through the British countryside to the Joe Jackson hit Steppin’ Out.

It promotes the brand during what the company describes as a busy period of growth and development. Jet’s electric vehicle offer, Jet Charge, will launch later this year at a small number of initial sites, while the brand has continued to grow its portfolio. Nine Petrocell forecourts were added in May, with three in Kent, two in Devon and East Anglia, and single sites in Buckinghamshire and Staffordshire. They are in the process of being rebranded from Gulf.
