Home of the day: £775k The Georgian House in Wheeleys Road, Edgbaston

This property in a popular city suburb has weathered the passing years well, says Alison Jones

The Georgian House in Wheeleys Road, Edgbaston.

Though this handsome property in Wheeleys Road, Edgbaston, is actually called The Georgian House, it comes within a whisker of belonging to the Victorian period as it was constructed in the late 1830s.

However, the architectural stylings that were popular with the Georgians still held strong at that point.

Now Grade II listed, the detached townhouse has been somewhat altered since its construction having been extended and restored in recent years.

Its white stucco façade combined with classic Georgian sash windows and bays make this a very pretty house to look at.

An in and out driveway leads to the front of the house, the low-level blue brick wall, shrubbery and a mature pine tree offering both colour and privacy.

To the right hand side is an integral double garage, to the left a large store with lean-to corrugated Perspex roof that provides access through to the back garden.

The front door is set beneath a rounded arch with glazed fanlight over.

Inside the rooms are well laid out. An excellent open plan living/dining space has been created off the kitchen as well as additional first floor space.
