Home Bargains' Merseyside distribution centre has achieved a significant landmark as the retail giant continues its Yorkshire expansion.

The discount retailer launched its automated distribution facility at the Omega Business Park near the M62, between St Helens and Warrington, in May and it currently supplies 200 outlets nationwide.

The Omega facility already processes over 25,000 pallets of merchandise weekly, selecting and despatching nearly two million cases, equivalent to more than 50,000 cages of stock, alongside over 1,000 store deliveries each week.

More than 60% of all cases selected have been processed through the fully-automated section of the distribution facility.

The Liverpool firm stated it represents a crucial advancement in its expansion strategy, reports .

Operations will continue to scale up over the coming weeks, before a brief hiatus to concentrate on peak trading. The scaling process will restart in January 2026, with the Omega facility set to supply 312 outlets by the end of January 2026.

Simultaneously, progress continues on Home Bargains' latest major project - a new distribution facility in Doncaster, scheduled to launch in Summer 2028.

Upon completion, the Doncaster location will provide capacity for more than 300 additional outlets, further bolstering the company's long-term growth ambitions.
