Wales First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced a new set of provisional dates that now pave the way for the full reopening of the tourism sector in Wales - with a bumper year expected.

In Wales self contained tourism accommodation opened last month and this was followed by the border coming down on April 12 - allowing visitors into the country again.

There is now a long awaited timetable for the remainder of the sector that would be subject to final confirmation from the next Welsh Government with the Senedd election taking place on May 6.

All the main parties are now looking at the same dates for reopening the sector though so there should not be any divergence from the dates unless the health situation changes.

Monday April 26

From this date outdoor tourism attractions can reopen - with sites like the Welsh Mountain Zoo and Zip World able to swing open the gates for the first time in months.

Outdoor hospitality will also open which will allow visitors the chance of enjoying a meal or a drink in restaurants, cafes and pubs if they have outside areas. Hopefully the good weather will hold although many places now have sheltered outdoor facilities to cope with a bit of rain.
