A family-owned bakery in Gloucestershire with a 100-year history has expanded its headquarters. Hobbs House Bakery has extended its Chipping Sodbury head office from 20,000 to 30,000 sq ft.
West of England metro mayor Dan Norris officially opened the site, which produces fresh bread and pastries on a daily basis, on Tuesday, April 9. Hobbs House Bakery also has stores in Bristol, on Gloucester Road, and Chipping Sodbury, where it sells its produce.
Jenny Greenway, head of people and culture at Hobbs House Bakery, said the expansion meant the business could serve more customers in the local community. She said: "My team are excited for the opportunities the new bakery expansion will bring to our employees and business".

Ms Greenway added that the new head office was "great news" for the company's staff. Hobbs House Bakery has signed up to the West of England Good Employment Charter and offers a range of apprenticeships. It also offers employees dedicated wellbeing support alongside group yoga and staff football, plus a scheme offering baby hampers to working mums and dads.
Mr Norris said: "There’s nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread. I am pleased that thanks to this revamp, more locals will get to enjoy delicious bakes and cakes of the highest quality from this much-loved, family-owned West of England firm.
“And I’m all the more pleased that Hobbs House Bakery is rising to the occasion, and understands the value of good jobs for their employees."
