Hair extension brand Beauty Works bought by US-based Beauty Industry Group

A Cheshire-based hair extension brand has been bought by US-based Beauty Industry Group (BIG).

Beauty Works, which was founded by Penelope Cheshire more than 10 years ago, supplies hair extensions to salons, retailers and stylists across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

BIG, located in Salt Lake City, has professional products sold in more than 1,300 stores in North America, with its collective brands used in more than 30,000 salons across 165 countries.

BIG CEO Derrick Porter said: “We have watched Beauty Works for some time now and are impressed by the lively ecosystem they have cultivated among salons, stylists, influencers, and consumers within the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ market.

“Their strong performance is a direct reflection of their intentional strategy and strong leadership, with whom we are thrilled to now work alongside with.”

The Manchester corporate finance team at Deloitte advised Beauty Works on its sale to BIG.
