North East sausage roll champion Greggs has been named the 海角视频鈥檚 best retailer at a top industry event.
The Newcastle maker of the vegan sausage roll recently unveiled a stellar set of results for 2019, growing sales 13.5% to 拢1,167.9m and sharing in its success with staff by giving them a record annual profit-share payment of 拢12.8m, on top of a special one-off dividend of 拢7m announced in January.
Now the firm has added to its financial success with more industry recognition, beating the likes of Aldi, Matalan, Primark, Sainsbury鈥檚 and Tesco to win two trophies at the 2020 Retail Week Awards.
The Retail Week Awards 2020 is a symbol of excellence in the retail sector, providing a platform for industry-wide recognition and a celebration of outstanding work.
The firm was voted best retailer over 拢250m and value retailer of the year at the London event.

Judges were wowed by the launch of Greggs鈥檚 now famous vegan sausage roll in January 2019, which caused queues out of store doors up and down the country, as well as its work to become the go-to bakery for penny-conscious shoppers looking for food on the go.
The win comes five months after Greggs won the brand of the year award at the prestigious Marketing Week Masters Awards 2019, beating competition from the likes of Netflix and Cadbury鈥檚 to triumph, as well as being recognised as Britain鈥檚 Most Admired Company 2019 in the Management Today awards.
