Bakery chain Greggs is creating what will be its second drive-thru in Wales in Newport.
Work is under way at a site in the Maesglas area of the city opposite 28 East Retail Park.
It is expected to open later this year, creating around 20 jobs.
Greggs’ first drive-thru in Wales is expected to open next month in Swansea.
Acting for Greggs, property advisory firm Cooke & Arkwright, acquired the site in Newport as well as for the Swansea drive-thru on Fabian Way.
It has also acquired a third yet to be disclosed site in Wales for a Greggs driv-thru, with more in the pipeline.
Steve Jones, estate surveyor at Greggs, said: “We are delighted to be bringing drive-thru’s to our customers in Wales with the first scheduled to open in Swansea in July.
“We anticipate that our drive-thru sites will become popular with busy families and people on the go."

Cooke & Arkwright secured new shop openings for Greggs in 2020, most of which were on non-high street locations in Cardiff, Barry, Pengam, Cwmbran, Pontyclun, Merthyr, Mumbles and Chepstow.
