Vax plans to floor it at Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge

Floor care company enters team of 45 to run for Birmingham Children's Hospital

A runner taking part in last year's Bupa Great Birmingham Run

Floor care company Vax is entering a team of 45 runners in this year’s Bupa Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge with the aim of raising £4,500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The eight teams, which are largely made up of novice runners, comprises the managing director as well as representatives from the sales, human resources, call centre, marketing, reception and finance teams.

The runners are aged from early 20s to early fifties and have been split into teams according to business departments, creating a lot of enthusiasm and competition between the teams.

Vax employees have been inspired to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital as they are based in the same area of central Birmingham. Employees have collected buckets from the hospital and have each committed to raise a minimum of £100.

Team coach and Vax HR business partner Sally Ann Rice said: “Being located so close to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, employees felt it was important to raise money for such an important charity. Being involved in the run has created a lot of competition amongst colleagues to see who can raise the most money and post the fastest time. Vax’s creative team is designing running vests so Team Vax should be easy to spot.”
