A gourmet kebab firm has announced it's looking to open six stores in Liverpool, creating dozens of jobs after the chain revealed its like-for-like sales had risen by almost 50%.

German Doner Kebab (GDK) said it's bringing its "fast-casual" dining experience to Merseyside, and said it will open the first of six in the New Year.

The restaurant says its "unique" dining experience aims to appeal to the next generation of customers, "who will love the new restaurant’s slick appearance, great-tasting high-quality product range, and quick serving times".

It's listed as one of the country's fastest growing restaurant chains, with 36 outlets already opened in the past two years- and its Fulham store is listed on Tripadvisor as the city's number one 'quick bites' venue out of more than 1,500.

The first Liverpool branch is set to open in the second quarter of 2020, creating 25 jobs, with "plans afoot" for a further five stores in the city.

Daniel Bunce, GDK MD for º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland, said: “We managed to keep it under wraps, but we are now very excited to confirm that we will be bringing German Doner Kebab to Liverpool.

“The º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s appetite for our delicious gourmet kebabs and extensive range of sides means that it is only right we continue to forge ahead our strong growth plans and bring GDK to one of Britain’s most iconic cities.
