A new sportswear store is set to open soon in Leicester鈥檚 Highcross Shopping Centre.
Boards have gone up outside a big unit on the lower level of the shopping centre, advertising the opening of a new Foot Locker shop.
According to the signs, it will be opening in January, and jobs are available.
The company already has a Kids Foot Locker store in the Highcross, and the new store will be close by, in a corner unit opposite Ray鈥檚 Traditional Fish and Chips and Sharps Bedrooms.
Foot Locker previously had a store in Gallowtree Gate in the city centre, which closed at the start of the pandemic in March, and hasn鈥檛 reopened.
A 鈥榯o let鈥 board has now been put up outside this shop.
The opening of the new store is good news for the Highcross, which has lost a number of shops and restaurants this year.
They have included Debenhams, TM Lewin, Thomas Sabo and Carphone Warehouse, as well as Carluccio鈥檚, Caf茅 Rouge, MOD Pizza, Coast to Coast, Handmade Burger Company and Stonebaked Pizza Company.
Foot Locker describes itself as 鈥渢he leading global athletic footwear and apparel retailer,鈥 with a focus on 鈥渟neakers鈥.
The company鈥檚 website says: 鈥淪neakers are all we think about and nothing makes us more proud than being able to keep our followers up to date with the latest trends.鈥
As well as footwear, Foot Locker sells clothing, such as tracksuits, hoodies and t-shirts and accessories including caps, bags and sports equipment.
Brands available include Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Puma, Converse, Vans and New Balance.
