Georgian building turned into £500,000 beauty retreat

The Beauty Temple Retreat in Castle Donington is the sixth East Midlands salon to be opened by Lucy and Martin Goodwin

A Georgian building in a Leicestershire village will reopen in the new year as a beauty and wellness retreat, following a £500,000 investment.

The Beauty Temple Retreat in Castle Donington will be the sixth East Midlands salon to be opened by Lucy and Martin Goodwin since launching their flagship branch in Nottingham city centre in 2006.

Their other Beauty Temple salons are in Mapperley, West Bridgford, Loughborough and Diseworth.

With the Castle Donington branch they said they wanted to bring something different to the area in the form of a luxury day retreat.

Located in Market Street, the building is steeped in history and in the 19th century was a drapery shop and dressmaker.

The new business is split over four levels and offers guests body and beauty treatments as well as things such as yoga classes and holistic treatments.

Friends and family will be able to spend a day together, relaxing in the outdoor hot tub which overlooks the garden, or with a glass of fizz at the Champagne nail bar before having something to eat in The Blossom Cafe, which is open to the public daily for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea as well as takeaway hot drinks.

There is also a bar and separate dining area as well as a gift shop and a social area where special events, such as yoga retreats will be held.
