Football club Forest Green Rovers has struck a deal which will see it selling food and drink in packaging made from plants.
The Nailsworth-based side is working with compostable packaging firm Vegware and waste management business Grundon in a bid to reduce waste going to landfill.
It is understood that bin systems will be installed at The New Lawn stadium to make sure packaging is captured, composted and returned to the soil.

The National League side, which is owned by entrepreneur Dale Vince, says the partnership provides a "practical example" of how football clubs can reduce their environmental impact.
Eilidh O’Connor, head of environmental at Vegware, said: “Forest Green Rovers share our vision for a world where sustainability is part of everyday choices.
"By combining our compostable packaging with our consultancy expertise, and working closely with Grundon, we can help the club build on their brilliant track record and make it even easier for fans and staff to do the right thing. Together, we’re proving that sport can be a powerful platform for sustainable change.”
The new system will be in place throughout the season, with fans seeing Vegware packaging at The New Lawn stadium.
Stephen Hill, general manager – group commercial development at Grundon, added: "Compostable packaging combined with specialist collection services we can provide is literally a game-changer for both Forest Green Rovers and the wider sporting community, and has huge potential for the future.”

In July, Forest Green Rovers unveiled a 'completely vegan' kit for the 2025-26 season. The new strip, which was certified by the Vegan Society, is dyed using plant-based ingredients and is entirely recyclable.
Both the home and away kits feature a leopard print pattern inspired by nature.
The new home shirt will be worn for two seasons as part of a commitment by the club to reduce waste and "lower the burden" on fans to purchase a new design every year.
