How Plymouth's £53m Drake Circus multiplex will look

Four top restaurant chains and an indoor crazy golf operator are to move into Plymouth's new £53million multiplex centre.

Nando's, , Zizzi and Cosy Club are all arriving at the vast Drake Circus Leisure development at Bretonside, in the city centre, along with Paradise Island Adventure Golf.

The arrival of the brands is welcome news for British Land after it was revealed in June 2019 that to open in the 12-screen cinema complex.

It also looks as if troubled burger chain Byron is off the menu now too after the company, which was keen to open in Plymouth, went into a CVA (creditors’ voluntary arrangement).

However, British Land is delighted that what it calls “a range of exciting restaurants, bars and leisure brands” have committed to a combined 32,000sq ft of space in the new development, which will open in the autumn and have space for 14 units in total.

The company said the complex, adjacent to British Land’s Drake Circus Shopping Center, will complement the mall, creating “another vibrant destination for Plymouth”.

The leisure complex will be anchored by a 41,000sq ft, 12-screen Cineworld cinema, together with a modern IMAX screen, the first to open in the South West.

The Five Guys burger joint which will open a 2,500sq ft restaurant; Nando’s has committed to a 4,300sq ft unit; Cosy Club will take 6,700sq ft; and Italian-food eatery Zizzi has committed to 4,000sq ft of space.
