First Minister Mark Drakeford is due to layout a roadmap for hospitality in Wales this week - saying beer gardens should be open in April

In Wales the review on reopening outdoor hospitality and tourism attractions is due to take place on April 22.

But under the gradual approach taken by Welsh Government this could have meant reopening not taking place for up to three weeks.

Today Mr Drakeford was asked by Andrew Marr on his Sunday morning show when people in Wales can enjoy a pint at a pub

He said: “I am hoping by the end of April people will be able to enjoy outdoor hospitality, meeting indoors we know is more dangerous, that’s likely to have to wait until May.“

The hospitality sector in Wales has been desperate for a roadmap out of lockdown to help them prepare to reopen.

There are also huge concerns that additional funding expected in April will not now be announced until after the Senedd election on May 6.

Outdoor hospitality will open in England on April 12 at the earliest and indoors on May 17.
