The first Leicester Restaurant Week will take place next month in support of the city鈥檚 beleaguered hospitality sector.
BID Leicester is hosting the event from October 18 to 24, to shine a light on some of the best restaurants in the city 鈥 and give diners the opportunity to try somewhere new or head back to their favourite dining spot.
It comes as news figures from the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership suggest the city and counties hospitality and tourism sector contracted by a quarter since the start of the pandemic 鈥 the equivalent of 拢310 million in revenues.
Highlights of Leicester Restaurant Week will include 拢10 fixed price menus and half term family menus and some of places taking part include Orton鈥檚 Brasserie, Giggling Squid, Knight and Garter, Kayal, Herb, and The Globe, with more to be announced.
BID Leicester director Simon Jenner said they were keen to recognise and celebrate the sector.
He said: 鈥淲e have seen first-hand the effect that the pandemic had on our city, specifically within hospitality. Leicester Restaurant Week has been something we as a BID team have wanted to run with for some time, particularly after seeing the hugely positive impact Restaurant Weeks have had (and continue to have) in other cities throughout the 海角视频.
鈥淚t鈥檚 an opportunity to shine the spotlight on all the amazing eateries in the city, as well as encouraging both locals and visitors alike to come into Leicester and celebrate its amazing foodie scene.
