Entrepreneur hoping for national success with her jewellery making firm

Laura Young has been nominated for a Nottinghamshire Live Women in Business Award

Laura Young set up her online firm making jewellery while she was pregnant

Entrepreneur Laura Young was pregnant with her second child when she decided to start making jewellery.

Six years on and the 39 year old now has big dreams for her online business, Lexico, after she witnessed a growing demand for the products she was producting.

Mrs Young, of Balderton in Nottinghamshire, began the pasttime in 2013 and she has added an extra skill to her repertoire every year.

She offers products including bracelets and earrings but has most recently enjoyed her "biggest success" in handstamping metal jewellery products.

The 39 year old said: "I am passionate and I have been doing it for a while now but in the last year it has really taken off.

"The jewellery industry is a very flooded marketplace and I have always tried my best to be unique and stand out. I appreciate there are a lot of handstamp companies that do what I do but I add products to it to try and be different."

Mrs Young has now been nominated in this year's Nottinghamshire Live Women in Business Awards 2019, which highlights the work of female business owners, entrepreneurs and executives.

She has been nominated in the new business of the year category as she puts "so much heart and soul" into her business.
