East Yorkshire hotel and spa won't open after pandemic

Willerby Manor closed amid coronavirus outbreak - and it won't return

Happier times: The Best Western Willerby Manor Hotel.

An East Yorkshire hotel and health club has announced it will not be reopening after lockdown.

Best Western Willerby Manor Hotel, in Well Lane, is now permanently closed after owners made the decision not to reopen after the coronavirus pandemic.

It is understood the land has been sold.

In a statement, the Willerby Manor team said: “It is with sincere regret that we inform you that The Willerby Manor Hotel and Healthclub will be permanently closing.

“This has not been an easy decision and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

A popular wedding and events destination, with a 400 capacity, the three-star hotel also boasted an 18-metre swimming pool, sauna, spa and fitness centre, as well as the separate Fig’s Brasserie.

Having expanded on the former Manor House in Willerby, just a few miles from Hull, the hotel has been a location for many school proms, sports socials, conferences, festive events and more over the decades.

The team said: “Our immediate priority is to contact all customers individually who have existing reservations, events and healthclub memberships at the hotel.
