Drink sales boost Mitchells & Butlers' performance, with Toby Carvery and All Bar One leading the way

Mitchells & Butlers, the owner of pubs and restaurants including Toby Carvery and All Bar One, saw like for like sales rise by 3.4% in the 13 weeks to July 27

Mitchells & Butlers, the owner of All Bar One, has reported another period of sales growth as it continues to rebuild its margins.

The pub and dining chain, which also owns Toby Carvery, saw a 3.4 per cent increase in like-for-like sales over the past three months, bringing its total sales increase for the year to 7.3 per cent.

Drink sales significantly contributed to this growth, increasing by four per cent during the company's third quarter.

Birmingham-based Mitchells & Butlers, which operates over 1,000 sites across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, stated that sales growth had "remained ahead of the market" with growth seen across all its brands, as reported by .

Phil Urban, Chief Executive, commented: "We are pleased with the continued strong trading performance, which has remained ahead of the market through the year."

"As inflationary pressures have eased the level of price increase we have taken has reduced, leading to headline sales growth in line with more normalised levels as expected during the second half."

"The combination of easing inflationary costs and continued sales growth will ultimately benefit our profit levels for the year."
