DIY chain B&Q reopens 155 stores across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ - with social distancing controls in place

The chain had closed its stores in March but is now reopening them in stages

DIY chain B&Q has reopened 155 stores across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The retailer said it was rolling out "social distancing controls" including limits on how many customers can shop at once and two-metre spacing in queues.

B&Q shut all of its stores at the end of March, but following a successful trial reopening 14 stores last weekend, reopened 61 sites on Wednesday April 22 and another 80 on Thursday April 23.

B&Q has introduced social distancing controls at their re-opened stores.

The retailer is strictly limiting the number of customers in store at any one time, and so you may find you need to queue if you visit the store.

To help remind everyone to respect each other’s personal space, there are two metre floor markers throughout the store and also perspex screens at checkouts.

At these re-opened stores, customers can purchase products that are available for takeaway in store on the day.

However, services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting are not available for the time being. B&Q is accepting card, gift card and contact-less payments only.
