Deliveroo has unveiled plans to spend 拢1m promoting healthy eating across the 海角视频.
The delivery app鈥檚 investment aims to increase the range of healthy options on the platform and to support partner restaurants in developing healthy meals and menus.
The firm鈥檚 investment was triggered by a sharp increase in demand for healthy food over the past three years, with a 181% rise in healthy orders.
It has also reached a milestone of 4,000 healthy restaurants on the Deliveroo platform 鈥 a rise of 257% in the last three years 鈥 and a 330% increase in orders of vegan dishes over the past two years with Vegatsu, Wagamama, the most ordered in 2019.
Deliveroo data shows that cities outside of London have seen a faster demand for healthy meals, with demand rising by 359% in Exeter, 273% in Newcastle, 251% in Cardiff, 248% in Leicester and 205% in Sheffield.
Will Shu, founder and CEO of Deliveroo, said: 鈥淒eliveroo鈥檚 approach is simple. We want to increase the choice of delicious, healthy takeaways to our customers in 2020.
鈥淭hat is why we are investing 拢1m this year to develop a range of nutritious menus and support restaurants to offer healthy meals across the 海角视频.鈥
Rhiannon Lambert, a registered nutritionist, said:聽 鈥淚 have teamed up with Deliveroo and devised a range of healthy takeaway options. We have created a menu of mouth-wateringly quick, affordable and nutritious meals.
鈥淭he partnership aims to combine my experience as a Registered Nutritionist with Deliveroo鈥檚 nationwide reach to increase the number of healthy takeaway options across the nation.
鈥淥ur approach couldn鈥檛 be more straightforward. We want to boost healthy eating patterns across the 海角视频 and dispel the belief that healthy food is expensive, hard to find and can鈥檛 taste delicious.鈥
