Staff at hen and stag party events organiser Go2 Experiences were unaware the firm was in trouble before it ceased trading, it has emerged.
A letter to customers, seen by Business Live, states the decision was made "within 24 hours" and all bookings and payments were taken in good faith.
Go2's parent firm , which also operated 海角视频GirlThing and was headquartered in Nottingham, ceased trading on Wednesday (June 19), reports .
The letter reads: "The difficult decision of placing the company into voluntary insolvency has not been taken lightly and happened very quickly.
"The decision to close the business happened within 24 hours in order to minimise distress and inconvenience to our clients, suppliers and staff.
"Therefore all staff members at GO2 Experiences were made aware of the ceasing of business the day it ceased.
"Therefore any communication previously sent to you has and was always made in good faith, as there was no prior knowledge of the immediate cease of trading before this time."
The letter provides customers with contact details of all venues and events booked through the company and advises those who paid with a credit card to contact their card company for a refund.

Apt Leisure provided various packages, events and accommodation for celebrations and had customers across the country.
Among those was Nicki Fry, 30, of Bognor Regis in Sussex, who had booked a hen do for a party of 13 in Cambridge in September. They had paid about half the balance, more than £1,000, on punting, a meal, accommodation and nightclub entry.
She said: "It is disappointing. We thought we had it all organised and we would have a great time but now we need to organise it individually and it is going to be much more stressful.
"We haven't heard anything from the company at all. In a way we are lucky we found out so soon but at the same time it would have been good to hear from the company."
Julie Ayres, 53, from Cambridgeshire, was part of a group of 13 planning to go to Birmingham, with more than £2,300 spent on activities and accommodation.

Her daughter, Gemma, is due to get married in September and they had organised the event for this weekend in order to get all Gemma's friends together, which is difficult due to work commitments.
She said: "We are extremely upset and extremely frustrated. We have just cancelled and are not doing anything which is a great shame.

"We are not the sort of people to go out and get drunk. We wanted to have some activities and do different things in the day. We took advice, looked at the reviews and they had a good reputation so we are all very upset about it."
According to Companies House the firm changed its registered name to Apt Leisure Ltd in May and extended its accounting period from August 31 last year to February 28, 2019. It still traded as Go2 Experiences and 海角视频GirlThing, however.
The last available accounts for the company, made up to August 31 2017, show a loss of more than £18,000.
