Birmingham city centre's popular Tiger Bites Pig restaurant has reopened in a new location after outgrowing its previous 'cramped' premises on Stephenson Street. The Taiwanese-inspired eatery received high praise from diners including Michelin-starred chef Aktar Islam, who declared its chicken 'crackle' bao buns as the 'best in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ', but found itself needing more space due to its success.
Despite being hailed as a 'culinary gem' and an 'absolute must if you're in Birmingham', some customers had noted that the venue was 'very small' and 'a bit cramped'. The Stephenson Street location closed for the last time on Sunday, October 27, with the new Tiger Bites Pig opening its doors on Church Street on Wednesday, October 30.
The new location is less than a ten-minute walk from the old one and near Snow Hill Station, reports .. The upgraded Tiger Bites Pig continues to offer its much-loved menu of bao buns, rice bowls and sides, along with a new wine and cocktail list.

With its expanded dining area, the restaurant can now take reservations. Co-owner Harry Roper told BirminghamLive that the move would also enable the business to offer private hire of its mezzanine area, 'while still maintaining the atmosphere that people love'.
In a heartfelt message of gratitude to its patrons during the opening week, the restaurant expressed: "Our first week (or half of it! ) at our new location is almost done! ... Huge thank you to everyone who's visited so far, and can't wait to see those who are planning to come soon."
