Cornwall-based bakery Warrens has opened a new store at London's Liverpool Street station.
The historic brand's new branch is based on the main concourse of the Ƶ’s busiest train station and will sell Cornish pasties, artisan baked goods and hot drinks.
It is the bakery's first travel site in London and follows success of railway station stores including in Slough, Basingstoke, Cardiff and Bath.
Warren Bakery’s chief executive Mark Sullivan said: “Our railway station stores in Bath, Basingstoke, Slough and Cardiff are popular amongst commuters and travellers, so we’re excited to grow further in this area by opening a flagship shop in the Ƶ’s busiest railway station. Our plan is to expand our presence in other London travel locations.”
Warrens Bakery was founded by two families - the Warrens and the Harveys - in St. Just, near Lands End, in 1860 and now has 45 stores around the Ƶ.
According to the company's website, the recipes used by the business have been passed down from generation to generation, and are still in use today.
Katie Anderson, head of travel at Warrens Bakery, said: “This is quite a journey for us, from the streets of 1860 Penzance to Liverpool Street Station in 2025.
"Our focus has always been on quality and choice, and we’re delighted to introduce people to our famous hand-crimped pasties, delicious baked goods and exciting new collaboration with roasted coffee experts Bridge Coffee.”
Hamish Kiernan, commercial director at Network Rail, added: “We’re so pleased to welcome Warrens Bakery to London Liverpool Street – our busiest station.
"When it comes to sales, bakery is one of our fastest-growing categories, and we know that passengers at Liverpool Street want quick service and convenient foods to eat on the go, without compromising on high quality. Warrens Bakery taps into all of this and will be a welcome addition to the food and drink line up at our destination station.”
