The Co-op is set to serve-up its new-look Denbigh food store in early August following a £1.25m restoration and refurbishment.

A near 20 week programme of works has seen the 3,000 sq ft High Street store – which is partially listed – receive professional restoration in consultation with the area’s listed building officer.

The store will run on 100% renewable electricity.

Carl Pettersson, Co-op area manager, said: "We have been having a great response to the works with some saying the development has even ‘enhanced the High Street’.

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment in Denbigh.

"We would like to thank the community for its continued support during the restoration project when we moved to a temporary store on the High Street.

"We are now looking forward to serving the community from our new-look store when we re-open in early August – the investment safeguards this wonderful old building for future generations, and is a great way for us to mark the 175 anniversary year of the Co-op."
