Chuckling Cheese Company expands with West Midlands launch

Skegness-based business is growing its portfolio of stores with new venue in the Black Country

The Chuckling Cheese Company is opening a new store in the Merry Hill centre next month

A speciality cheese retailer is opening its first shop in the Midlands.

The Chuckling Cheese Company, which is headquartered in Skegness, has run a kiosk at the Intu Merry Hill centre in Dudley for a year but has now decided to launch a permanent shop.

The company was founded by husband and wife team Emma and Stuart Colclough in 2012 and specialises in flavoured cheddar cheeses.

Its venues also sell a variety of other artisan products including chutneys, sweet treats, beers and spirits, pork scratchings and gift hampers.

The new site will open on September 5 in the lower mall of the Merry Hill and will be its first shop in the Midlands, joining other sites in Skegness, Doncaster and Middlesbrough.

Mrs Colclough said: "Having had a kiosk in the centre for over 12 months, we have been looking to move into a shop to allow us to increase the range of products we have on offer and bring the full Chuckling Cheese experience to Merry Hill.

"Although this seems to be a strange time to open a new store, we are determined not to let coronavirus slow us down.
