A North East company which spruces up luxury handbags is launching its restoration clinic in department store chain Fenwick.
The Handbag Clinic was first set up seven years ago by Charlotte and Ben Staerck, as a spin-off from leather repair business the Furniture Clinic, launched by Ben and his father in Burnopfield, County Durham.
The firm has since launched the resale of preloved designer bags, selling like-new Hermes, Dior and Chanel bags, which has seen it grow sales by over 500% in the last 18 months alone.
It offers a wide range of services to revive, restore or alter luxury handbags and accessories 鈥 often working on bags worth tens of thousands of pounds 鈥 and also enables buyers to avoid fakes with its team of authenticators who vet all products before putting them on sale.
Now the handbag restoration specialist and retailer has partnered with department store Fenwick, to launch a one-stop-shop at its Newcastle store.
The partnership launched in Fenwick鈥檚 flagship Newcastle store today, Wednesday October 28, and may roll out to further Fenwick stores nationwide next year.
Based on the first floor in the womenswear accessories department, Handbag Clinic will also bring premium luxury brands such Hermes, Chanel, Dior, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton to Newcastle鈥檚 retail scene for the first time, with its own range of preowned, fully authenticated luxury handbags available to purchase in Fenwick, for up to 83% of the original RRP.

All items brought into Handbag Clinic at Fenwick are securely packaged and transferred to the clinic, where the expert team will fully assess the work and provide a quote for approval before completing the work and returning the item directly to the customer.
Co-founder, Charlotte Staerck, said: 鈥淲hen you鈥檙e spending hundreds and often thousands of pounds on a luxury handbag, that鈥檚 a big investment for most people.
鈥満=鞘悠 is a promise and we鈥檙e here to help keep delivering on that 鈥 we are super excited to be partnering with Fenwick who understand this.
鈥淲e are also proud to be opening up the joy of owning some of the world鈥檚 most sought-after bags for Newcastle shoppers and encouraging them to do so more sustainably.鈥
Handbag Clinic currently operates through a chain of four owned stores in Leeds, Newcastle and London as well as an ecommerce platform and franchised stores in Monaco and Qatar.
The firm rejuvenates around 700 bags per month and is passionate about reducing waste having handled over 拢50m of handbags that may have otherwise been discarded to landfill.
With a flagship store on King鈥檚 Road and affiliations with Jimmy Choo, Aspinal of London, Sotheby鈥檚 and Christie鈥檚 London, the clinic has also become a firm favourite with the fashion elite having restored dozens of bags for fashion editors, as well as being a trusted favourite with a raft of celebrity clients including Poppy Delevingne, Storm Keating, Heidi Range, Frankie Bridge and Made In Chelsea stars.
