Hospitality businesses across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ are struggling to survive in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Business Live 's sister site, Bristol Live , is hoping to help the industry in Bristol, including pubs and restaurants which were forced to close for a period under Tier 3 rules.

On Thursday, December 17, health secretary Matt Hancock announced the city would be one of only three areas of the country moving down a tier - to Tier 2.

But according to hospitality bosses and chambers of commerce Business West, the decision came "too late" for most hospitality businesses to make money over the crucial Christmas trading period.

Bristol Live has teamed up with Hospitality Action º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Crowdfunder, and has launched a campaign - - calling for additional support from the Government and from people in the city.

The idea is to support venues in Bristol - and the people who work in them - over the Christmas period.

The campaign is asking everyone in Bristol who can to put money they might otherwise have spent on a night out or a Christmas meal towards the fundraising appeal for hospitality workers.

Under the banner of Big Up Bristol, Bristol Live will be speaking to business owners across the city about the impact the restrictions are having on them and how people can support them.
